The Brazilian footballer Lucas Silva has been ruled out of the upcoming matches for Flamengo due to a hamstring injury sustained in training.

"I am not happy about this," Silva told reporters after being ruled out of the next two matches. "I have to rest my body and recover completely."

Santos coach Roberto Carlos confirmed that Silva would miss the first three games of the season due to his injury, which will affect their chances of qualifying for the Copa do Brasil.

"It's a serious injury and we need him back in time for the Copa do Brasil," Carlos said. "We can't risk losing him."

Meanwhile, Santos manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has expressed his disappointment over Silva's absence, saying that the club must find a way to replace him without sacrificing too much.

"We are disappointed because we know how important it is for us to have a player like Lucas Silva," Scolari said. "He has played a big role in our success so far this year."
